Tours may occur between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. seven days a week. Group tours start on the hour or half hour and last approximately 45 minutes to an hour every day of the week. The last tour of the day begins at 4:00 p.m.

Tour Content

Guided group tours will focus on the lives and legacies of individuals buried at the Cemetery who made significant contributions to Texas history and culture, particularly as part of the 4th and 7th grade Texas history curriculum, though school groups of all grade levels will enjoy and benefit from the content.

Please contact Ali James, Director of Visitor Services, with any questions related to tour content by email at Ali.James@tspb.texas.gov or by phone at (512) 463-5495.

Important Notice Regarding Funerals

As a working cemetery, please note that funerals must take precedence over tours. Scheduled group tours may be canceled or rescheduled in the event of a funeral. The Texas State Cemetery appreciates the understanding of its visitors in these unique circumstances.

Self-Guided Group Tours and Public Tours

For self-guided group tours of the Cemetery, please call (512) 305-8402 so your group can be listed on the Cemetery calendar in advance in order to receive notification should a large group tour be scheduled at the same time or if a funeral or last-minute event necessitate the closure of the Cemetery.

Walk-in public tours are available based on guide availability seven days a week for groups smaller than 10 visitors. Visitors interested in a public tour should check in with Cemetery Visitor Services staff in the Cemetery front office.
