Texas Capitol Visitors Center

The restored 1857 General Land Office building, located on the southeast corner of the Capitol Grounds, serves as the Capitol Visitors Center. This three-story, castle-like structure stands as the oldest state office building in Texas. Recognized as a Texas Historic Landmark in 1962 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1970.
