World War I Monument
Overview
The World War I Monument was erected in 1961 by the membership of the Department of Texas, Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Constructed of Texas Sunset Red Granite, the monument lists the barracks and auxiliaries that participated in its creation. The monument honors World War I (1914-1918) veterans, including the 198,000 Texans who served in the armed forces during the conflict.
