Rotunda Application Process

The Texas Capitol has two rotundas for public events: the Capitol 1st Floor Rotunda, available from noon to 1 PM only, and the Extension Open Air Rotunda.


  1. Read the Rotundas Policy: Download and read the Rotundas Policy (PDF) to understand the guidelines and requirements.
  2. Check Availability: View the calendar to ensure your desired date and time are available.
  3. Contact Capitol Events: Please contact the Capitol Events staff at Capitol.Events@tspb.texas.gov or (512) 463-3051 for the Request Form to schedule special events. Requests are processed in the order they are received.
  4. State Official Sponsor: A State Official Sponsor must fill out and submit the Events Sponsorship Form (PDF). This form is to accompany an application completed by the prospective event holder.
  5. Finalize Request: The SPB Capitol Events Coordinator will contact the requestor to finalize the request after it is reviewed.
